Rabies is a fatal viral infection that spreads from the infected animal’s saliva. Rabies virus affects the central nervous system which gets transmitted by the bite or scratch of animal.
CAUSES –
- Rabies virus from mammals and pets
However in rare cases, virus can also get transmitted to humans that can affect tissues and organs if infected animals get a chance to lick on wounds.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS –
- Fever and headache
- Nausea and vomiting
- Agitation or anxiety
- Confusion
- Hyperactivity
- Difficulty in swallowing
- Extreme salivation
- Hydrophobia
- Priapism
