Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is also known as social phobia is an extreme emotional feeling of discomfort, uneasiness, worry or fear in interacting with other people at social gatherings. Individual is concerned about being judged or inspected by other people backed by an irrational fear of situations, objects, or surroundings.

- Hereditary factors
- Weather and demographic specific conditions depending on population density
- Overactive Amygdala: A part of brain which controls the fear response
- Chemical imbalance in the brain
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS –
- Avoids to get mingled with the crowded public, and be a center of attraction
- Don’t communicate with strangers easily
- Frightened to come in front of others
- Extreme fear of awkwardness and shame for being teased and condemned
- Panic attacks in feared situation
- Blank mind in common and social occasions
- Heart palpitations
- Abdominal pain
- Lack of eye contact
- Blushing
- Weeping, tantrums and isolation
- Slimy and cold hands
- Cry and confused
- Diarrhea and Nausea
- Shaky or trembling voice while talking
- Dry mouth and throat
