Eplerenone is used to treat patients who have a high blood pressure. The medication is used alone or is combined with other drugs to give the best results. The consumption of drug block a chemical called aldosterone which in turn reduces the amount of sodium and water that the body retains. As a result, with lowering blood pressure the risks like heart stroke, kidney problems, and strokes are reduced. The medication is also used to treat heart attack patients with a congestive heart failure.
- Eplerenone has to be taken as directed by the doctors.
- Adult dosages:
Oral Tablet: Initial dose- 25 mg once a day
- Target dose- 50 mg once a day
