Maternity Diet may cause ADHD

A study from the Barcelona Institute for Global Health suggests that diet taken by pregnant women affects their child to induce ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in them. Some samples of umbilical cord plasma were analyzed for samples of Omega 3 and Omega 6 that reaches the fetus. Their amounts were measured and it was found that a higher Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio may cause ADHD in child. Both these fatty acids play a vital role in the architecture of the nervous system of a baby. The results of the study showed that ADHD symptoms increased by 13% per ach unit increase in omega 6 to omega 3 ratio. This study foes on to support the fact that proper diet during pregnancy affects the baby’s health.
