Common Cold is an Upper Respiratory Tract Infection caused due to virus which may include almost 100 different variations of them. It mostly affects preschool children which usually gets recovered in a week or two. Over the counter drugs are usually used to cure this infection. It may spread by contact transmission or droplet transmission.

Human Parainfluenza Virus
Human respiratory syncytial virus
RISK FACTORS –
Age – Infants and young children
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS –
Low temperature Fever
Loss of appetite
Hot steam inhalation
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
Use of disinfectants wherever required
Use handkerchief while sneezing
Avoid contact with people since common cold is contagious
On an average, young children get affected for 6-8 times and adults get affected for almost 2-4 times in a year.
