In December 2019 an outbreak of a novel Coronavirus that emerged in China eventually led to the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring it as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30th January 2020. Following which the WHO officially named the new coronavirus disease: COVID-19 and by 11th March Covid-19 was designated as a global pandemic.
COVID-19 symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath. It can be severe in persons with underlying health conditions and vulnerable age groups.
Thousands of people have succumbed to the disease in the past few months with an estimated mortality rate of 3.4% worldwide as of 3rd March according to WHO.
The new coronavirus can be spread from person to person. It is diagnosed with a laboratory test. Owing to these difficult and uncertain times, we want to let you know that we are here to support in all efforts to flatten the disease curve. As we adapt to the frequent changes and updates, Medicus will stay open and remotely assist in providing Covid-19 medical support to all in need throughout India.
