CRANBERRY HELPS IN CANCER TREATMENT
07 Dec 2018
A study in London shows that the fruit, cranberry can help in slow down the growth of tumors and improve cancer treatments because it contains a nutritional supplement as Mannose. This was conducted on mice and the researchers showed that it has enhanced the effect of chemotherapy in cancers like ovarian tumors, bowel cancer, and leukemia. It reduced the tumor growth and simultaneously increased the general life span. Tumors need a lot of glucose to grow and it is difficult to control that however researchers showed that mannose can interfere and maintain the glucose level and hence slows down the growth of tumor cells. This study is in initial stage but researchers are hoping that this fruit can be given to cancer patients and enhance their chemotherapy by not damaging their overall health condition in future.
