ABSTRACT –
DuoNeb drug is a kind of sterile inhalation solution which is used to treat symptoms like short breathing and wheezing. The medication is a combination of two main components called albuterol and ipratropium which act as bronchodilators to increase the flow of air into lungs by relaxing the muscles airways. The combination of both drugs ensures easy breathing and enough room for the person to inhale air through airways. The drug helps to control bronchospasm and other ongoing lung diseases in patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
DOSAGE –

- DuoNeb has to be taken as directed by the doctors.
- Adult dosages:
Injection solution: 3 ml via nebulization upto 4 times a day.
Maximum dose for any day is 18 ml per day.
SIDE EFFECTS –
- Body ache
- Chills
- Cough with mucus
- Difficulty in breathing
- Ear congestion
- Fever
- Headache
- Loss of voice
- Runny nose
- Sneezing and sore throat
- Tightness in the chest
- Unusual tiredness or weakness

- Shakiness and shivering in the legs, arms, hands, or feet

PRECAUTIONS –
- Pharmacist must be consulted before the consumption of this drug as it contains components and inactive ingredients which may lead to allergic reactions.
- Medical history related to high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid or any family history of glaucoma should be discussed with doctor before the course.
- Since this drug makes a person dizzy so activities like driving and others which need more attention should be avoided.
- Longer use of the drug might lead to frequent urination and constipation especially among adults.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION WITH DUONEB:
- Use of DuoNeb in pregnancy may be acceptable only if the benefits exceed the risks involved.
- Do not nurse while on drug course, as this drug may transfer through breast milk and may harm a newborn.
WARNINGS –
- Doses taken beyond the maximum recommended dose may make the lungs fatal.
- A patient must be aware that the medicine might result in immediate hypersensitivity reactions.
- This medicine is not recommended to the patients who are suffering from renal disease.
- Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
