19 Dec 2018
Out of 50% of malignant lacrimal gland tumor, orbital eye-socket tumor covers 2% as recorded by the statistics. The orbital socket and other areas of the organ get affected by lacrimal gland tumor, but mostly this is a rare cancer type. The symptoms are vision problems such as blurry vision, pain in or around the eye, a fullness of the eyelid, swelling around the eye and double vision. The causes can be attributed to risk factors such as age of the individual, incomplete removal of previous benign tumor and a family history for lymphoma cases. The treatments are majorly surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted protocols, and immunotherapy.
