Maharashtra Government to Set Cancer Registry
03 Jan 2019
Maharashtra government is starting cancer registries in district where there’s high cancer frequency. It’s set up in two talukas of Kolhapur: Karveer and Shirol, to discern the patients and causes. Plan involves door-to-door survey and updating in a software provided by TATA Cancer Hospital, Mumbai. To guide and oversee the work, a nine member committee is formed. Every three months, they’ll review the registry and report will be submitted to the government. It’s a population-based registry. Place and people are studied for cancer’s source and causes. Data collected will be analyzed to create studies that can pinpoint genuine causes and offer cure.
