NEWBORN BABYS HIV TEST NEGATIVE
30 Apr 2019
Last year on 30th November, a teenager donated his blood in Government Rajaji Hospital. On December 3, the blood was injected to a pregnant woman without knowing that it was HIV positive blood. The woman’s family were in serious worry after knowing that the blood injected to her had been affected by HIV. On January 17th, the woman delivered a baby girl. The state health department conducted a HIV test on the baby on March 4, when she was 46 days old. Fortunately, the test result came negative. The officials added that the same test will be conducted once the baby turns 6 months and after 11/2 years. The whole family was happy to know that the test was negative. Unfortunately, the teenager who had donated the blood had committed suicide after knowing that he is HIV-positive.
