In Washington, a team of doctors developed a self-powered bandage than can generate electric fields over any deep wounds. The bandage can work on foot ulcers for diabetic patients, chronic skin wounds, and even for surgical wounds. Initially, they tested the bandage on rats. The Doctors team powered their bandage with the wearable nanogenerators by overlapping sheets of the copper foil, polytetrafluoroethylene, and polyethylene terephthalate. The nanogenerators will convert the regular skin movements into small electrical pulses. This e-bandage covered wounds will heal the wound in 3 days whereas a normal bandage generally takes almost 12 days to heal.
