ABSTRACT –

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a type of autoimmune disease where immune system starts to fight against own healthy cells and tissues rather than protecting them from harmful bacterial infections. It is a chronic disease with the symptoms ranging from mild to severe which can get worse if left untreated.

CAUSES –

  • Genetics
  • Unprotected sex
  • Hormonal imbalance

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS –

  • Fatigue
  • Muscle pain
  • Butterfly rashes on the cheeks and nose
  • Swelling in the joints
  • Hair loss
  • Blood clotting issues

COMPLICATIONS –

  • Heart diseases like stroke, heart attack

  • Lung problems like inflammation in lung tissues and lining of the lungs
