Thyroid cancer is of 4 types: Anaplastic; most difficult to cure followed by papillary, follicular, and Medullary. About 3.1% new cases are seen every year and 0.3% is death rate. The symptoms are swelling or lump in the front of the neck near Adam’s apple accompanied with hoarseness, difficulty in swallowing, pain in throat and persisted cough. Radiation therapy, anti-thyroid agents, hormone treatment, endocrine surgery and partial thyroidectomy could be done in initial stages. Radiation exposure and diet low in calcium could accelerate the disease.
