Hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) or Lynch syndrome is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder that has a very high risk for colon cancer and also other types including endometrial cancer, ovary, small intestine, hepatobiliary tract and skin. The causes include mismatching of gene pairs, gene mutations, early cancer history, and age below 50. Lynch syndrome can lead to colon cancer, womb or bowel cancer with no other specific symptoms, family history of colon cancer that occurs at an early age, attacks the uterus (endometrial cancer). The treatments include oophorectomy, hysterectomy, and colectomy, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
