Breast Cancer Promoting Gene
18 Apr 2019
Cancer as we all know is a deadly disease and can be controlled therapeutically. Australian researches have tracked an exclusive cancer-promoting gene that plays a vital role causing and spreading breast cancer. After analysing the genome of various similar subtype cancer patients, the researchers revealed that they have identified 5 genes which are termed as “over-active” in a subset of breast cancer patients and followed up on the most promising target as CBX2. On further analysis it was found that CBX2 are hidden oncogenes. The CBX2 oncogenes were found unique to smaller groups of cancer patients that might help to open new therapeutic avenues and closer to personalized medicine.
