STROKE
03 May 2019
Stroke is a medical emergency that occurs when normal blood flow to the brain stops. The brain cells starts to die immediately after the condition. The commonly occurring variation of this condition is the ischemic stroke. It is caused due to blood clots in the brain. The symptoms includes sudden numbness in the arm, leg, or face or on one side of the body, sudden confusion trouble in speech, vision problems either side and difficulty in walking. Some of the patients have hemorrhagic stroke when blood vessels break in the brain. An ischemic stroke affected person should immediately be hospitalized. The Intravenous Tissue Plasminogen activated is a clot-busting medication. This is a safe treatment and remains effective for 4-5 hours after the onset of symptoms. After the improvement of the affected parts of the body, the patient is asked to do physical exercises as in a rehabilitation program. The improvement can be seen rapidly within a few days but complete cure is expected only at gradual stages.
